Admin/Reception – Native Tech, Rotorua

Do you like to work in a fun and inspiring environment?  

Native Tech (a programme powered by Digital Natives Academy) is looking for a Receptionist/Admin to support Digital Natives Academy and Native Tech.

Native Tech is an initiative developed by Digital Natives Academy, a non-profit, which was established in 2014 to encourage young people wanting to enter the digital tech industry the power to create, transform, shape and develop their own digital tools. 

Native Tech’s vision is to create the next generation of digital leaders. Our foundation is based on a Te Ao Māori worldview and we provide Kaupapa Māori and Matauranga Māori programme delivery. 

Our goal is to create industry relevant career pathways for young people who don’t have access to technology, training or support. We do this to inspire them to become makers and innovators of technology, rather than simply users and consumers of it.  

Requirements

  • Must have completed at a minimum your Level 3s
  • Ideally should have a welcoming attitude, be poised and tactful at all times
  • Ideally be able to touch type (55wpm+)
  • Ability to thrive in a new start up and help develop and test policies and procedures and offer feedback to help iterate and strengthen them
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail when composing and proofing materials required
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Strong initiative and ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Docs/Sheets/Slides/Forms/Calendar
  • Ability to learn new admin related software (training provided, including website content management)
  • Appreciation and basic knowledge of Te Reo Māori (support provided)
  • Appreciation and basic knowledge of Tikanga Māori (support provided)
  • Level 5/6 helpful

Must have a full-license and be available to drive during work hours (running possible errands). All staff are police vetted annually. First Aid training is a plus.

Role to start Mar 2023, programme to end Dec 2024.

Contract provided will detail all key responsibilities.
