We are a community-based disability service that primarily offers Residential Services as well as Supported Living.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, creative team member to fill a part-time role to work across our support of independent living. You will be supporting individuals with life skills and community engagement.
The position will be across our 24 /7 service and supported independent living.
Duties of the role
Support the individual to achieve their personal plans.
Strengthen and develop the individuals’ networks in the community.
Engage with the individual to check that the support offered meets expectations and enhances their life.
Promote an environment that encourages the individual to feel safe and comfortable.
Encourage the individual to grow and increase their independence by supporting them to learn skills for daily living and to make decisions and choices.

Maintain the quality of the support we provide.
Collaborate with other support staff by attending staff meetings, coaching, training, and keeping each other informed about the individual being supported and sharing ideas with your team members.
Generate daily support notes, incident reports, daily handover notes to your co-workers, and any other administration tasks that might be required.
Skills and experiences
Qualification in Health and well-being or willingness to obtain.
Someone with a knowledge of autism and disability.
Computer literacy.
A valid driver’s license is essential.
Valid first aid certificate or willing to obtain.
Someone who is flexible, reliable, a good team player, and who can think outside the box.
A team player that actively participates.
Someone who is empathetic and inclusive.
Passion for building community and positive relationships.
Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong record-keeping and analytical skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Someone who is willing to work weekends, sleepovers, and evenings.
Willingness to undergo a criminal check and oranga tamariki check.
