Volunteering Bay of Plenty has been supporting and enabling the advancement of Volunteering since 2005. We exist to nurture and champion excellence in Volunteering by providing vital advocacy and consulting services that enable, equip and connect communities.

We believe all Volunteers are Superheroes who play an important role in contributing to our community. And every superhero needs a CAPE. Hence we use this acronym as our Strategic Framework, C.A.P.E: Connect, Advocate, Protect and Educate) to guide everything we do at Volunteering Bay of Plenty.

The Opportunity

A key outcome of our Business Strategy is to meet local communities within their district so we can feel the heartbeat, hear their needs firsthand and respond accordingly. To this end, we plan to establish Hubs that service local communities.

We now seek a dynamic person to lead our Volunteering Rotorua Hub, who will expand our eco-system that connects individuals to Volunteer engaging organisations and groups.

The Ideal Person

You live in the Rotorua district and recognise the value of Volunteering for all parties involved.

You and have proven leadership and management experience, and engage effectively and positively with your colleagues, direct reports and as part of a geographically dispersed team.

Well networked, you have a proactive approach to business growth and development.

Outcome focused, you are energised by the thought of achieving your goals for promoting our support services and serving the Volunteering community.Key Selection Criteria

  1. Cognisant of emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the Volunteering sector.
  2. Established networks within the district and highly driven to forge new relationships and retain them.
  3. Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels – both internally, externally and with people from diverse backgrounds.
  4. Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines and targets.
  5. A tertiary qualification in business development, marketing, project management or similar.
  6. Intermediate level computer literacy using Microsoft Suite and knowledge of database use.
