Social Media Coordinator – Tauranga

Te Manu Toroa is a Kaupapa Māori Organisation who delivers a variety of health and social services to our whānau and community in Tauranga Moana.

We are looking for Social Media Coordinator to join our Communications team.  This is a fabulous opportunity to put your stamp on and develop this diverse role.   You will need to be an excellent communicator, highly motivated, proficient in managing all types of media and be able to work within a Kaupapa Māori organisation. This role is a part-time position working between 20 hours per week, with the possibility of growing into a full-time position.

We’re looking for someone who is able to create relevant content to connect with and grow this audience and is comfortable engaging with all levels of the organisation and public.

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats
  •  Excellent social listening skills
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Detail-oriented
  • Tertiary Education in Marketing and or Communications preferred.
  • Some knowledge of Te Reo Māori
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in similar role
