Tracey Old is on her way to achieving her health care career goals
Tracey Old is one of this year’s recipients of the Study Award. The Award aims to minimise financial barriers for second chance learners from the Toi Ohomai rohe and support them to achieve qualifications.
Tracey graduated from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology with a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) in 2021 and is embarking on Level 4 study this year. Tracey’s goal is to work as a health care professional and is keeping her options open. Tracey says
“There are many routes I can go – I’m contemplating mental health, aged care, neonatal, and possibly even nursing. This scholarship means I can afford to study at Level 4 and further explore my career options”.
After receiving careers advice from the Toi Ohomai careers team, Tracey found a new job and applied for a scholarship.
“Things are looking up for me. The support I have received has got me into a really good position. I have a new job and this scholarship makes a huge difference – I am excited and confident about the future”.
Congratulations to Tracey on the award, we look forward to being part of your Toi Ohomai journey.
